About Group Therapy at CAPSS:

Group therapy offers unique benefits that individual therapy may not, and it is often easier to get into—especially as our individual therapy caseloads are often full. While the idea of joining a group may feel unfamiliar at first, people are often surprised by how helpful the experience can be. Additionally, research has also shown that group-based approaches can be highly effective- and at least as effective as individual therapy for children.

Our groups are structured and skills-focused, providing practical tools to manage anxiety and stress in a supportive setting. We currently offer Parenting Anxious Kids (and Teens), a group designed to help parents learn evidence-based strategies to support their child’s anxiety, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Tweens, which teaches mindfulness techniques to build resilience and manage stress. These groups emphasize skill-building, education, and actionable strategies that can be applied in daily life.

Whether you're looking to support your child more effectively, build stress-management skills, or get started with learning strategies while waiting for individual therapy, group therapy can be a valuable and effective option.
