Dr. Courtney C. Junkins (she/her/hers) is a licensed psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and their families. She predominantly uses a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy and provides evidence-based intervention services. She has specialty training in pediatric psychology and has expertise in working with children who have chronic medical conditions. Dr. Junkins also has specialized training in biofeedback and self-hypnosis for pain management.

The following are her areas of interest and expertise:

• Coping and adjusting to acute or chronic medical conditions

• Adherence to medical regimens

• Chronic pain management (e.g., migraines, amplified musculoskeletal pain, etc.)

• Functional disorders (e.g., POTS, pseudoseizures, conversion disorder, etc.)

• Gastrointestinal conditions (e.g., chronic abdominal pain, IBS/IBD, constipation, etc.)

• Anxiety, depression, and stress management

• Parent training and support

Dr. Junkins also provides IQ testing for students for gifted programs and school planning purposes, as well as neuropsychological evaluations for learning disorders, ADHD, and executive functioning difficulties. • Primary Children’s Hospital, pre-doctoral internship in pediatric behavioral health and pediatric neuropsychology (APA-accredited), 2014-2015

• Children’s Medical Center Dallas, post-doctoral fellowship in child clinical and pediatric health psychology (APA-accredited), 2015-2016

• Seattle Children’s Research Institute, Clinical Research Psychologist -Supervisor, Center for Clinical and Translational Research, 2016-2023

• Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Lead Scientist & Associate Director for Intervention Science, Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care, 2023-Present

Dr. Junkins has been a licensed psychologist in Washington since 2016. In addition to working part-time in private practice, Dr. Junkins is a Lead Scientist and the Associate Director for Intervention Science within the Department of Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Within this role, Dr. Junkins trains and supervises a national pool of coaches who deliver the promoting resilience in stress management (PRISM) program to adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating a stressful experience (e.g., chronic illness diagnosis, cancer survivorship, etc.).
